SHILLONG: Concerned over the spurt in crime against women and children, social organization SPARK organised a sensitization programme at Rangmen Nongsder in collaboration with the Cyber Crime Wing Shillong and Umiam Police Station. The initiative was supported by the Ri-Bhoi Superintendent of Police.
During the programme, the resource persons spoke on various issues related to the common crimes taking place in the society and how one can protect oneself from them.
I. Jyrwa and S. Chyne from Cyber Crime Wing Shillong provided a detailed presentation on how cyber crime takes place explaining the participants all its aspects as well as warning on various do’s and dont’s to protect themselves from falling victim to it. The officer in charge of Umiam Police Station E. D. Manner acquainted those gathered with juvenile related issues. He stressed on good parenting for the better future of the children. Over 200 people attended the programme.
