Mother Teresa film fest in city from September 6

SHILLONG: The India chapter of the World Catholic Association for Communication will organise a four-day film festival in Shillong and Jowai to mark the canonisation of Mother Teresa.
In Shillong, Mother Teresa International Film Festival (MTIFF) will be held from September 6-9 where 20 movies, documentaries and short films, will be screened at the State Central Library. In Jowai, the event will be from September 14-17.
The festival will be inaugurated by Governor V Shanmuganathan on September 6 and Chief Minister Mukul Sangma will be the chief guest on September 8.
The opening film will be “Mother Teresa and Me”, made by Gautam Lewis, who was raised by Mother Teresa after his parents abandoned him in Kolkata.
Similar festivals will be organized in other cities like Guwahati, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai and 50 countries, besides India, which will focus on the Mother’s life and teachings.
