SHILLONG: Many shop owners in the city are charging as much as Rs 200 for a Jio 4G-Lite sim despite Reliance’s free sim card promise. A few residents who got JIO 4G LTE connection said some shop owners in Shillong are charging between Rs 100-200 for each sim. While some shops are charging money, Reliance outlets in Shillong are distributing the sims free of cost. However, the serpentine queues outside the shops are discouraging many to go for free sims.
