Diploma in Elementary Education examination

SHILLONG: Late submission of internal marks of trainees by the study and regional centres has led to a delay in the declaration of results of Diploma in Elementary Education (final year batch 2015).
Replying to an RTI filed by the Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) central body, the head office of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Noida informed that the result was supposed to be declared on December 16, 2015 but the study centre and the regional centre delayed in sending the internal marks of trainees despite several reminders.
The RTI further revealed that the NIOS headquarter has received the internal marks of over 3000 trainees and that the results will be declared at the earliest.
The association expressed concern over the lackadaisical attitude of the study centre. “The teachers are awaiting the results for nine months. We urge the state government to take the matter seriously and to direct the Directorate of Education and Research Training (DERT) to do the needful within September 30 failing which we will be prompted to recourse to other actions,” said MSSASA president Aristotle C. Rymbai.
