TURA: West Garo Hills Police have recovered a major portion of the money that was paid to a kidnappers’ gang as ransom for freeing a teenager and two others. The three kidnapped persons were later killed.
The police found Rs 2.25 lakh based on information given by four abductors — Tengrak B Marak, Emil M Marak, Galsengbath M Marak and Kristone M Sangma — who were arrested on Friday. The father of Suleiman Sheikh, who was kidnapped along with two others, had paid Rs 3 lakh to the kidnappers on Sunday.
However, the kidnappers killed the trio on Sunday and their decomposed bodies were found on Thursday.
