Demand for construction of foot bridges along Jorabad-Umiam expressway

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Indigenous Youth Federation (MIYF) Ri Bhoi unit has once again urged the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to install foot bridges along the Jorabad-Umiam expressway for the safety of pedestrians. An MIYF delegation also wanted to meet the Project Director, NHAI on the matter but the latter was out of station. The MIYF also urged the authorities to implement the afforestation schemes to make up for the trees that were felled during the construction of the expressway.
