SHILLONG: The secondary section of BSF Primary School, which made headlines recently following the disappearance of two minor girls, has come under attack for poor facilities.
Students of BSF Secondary School have been inconvenienced after the school bus broke down last week. The school at Umpling has only one bus to ferry students from different parts of the city.
Now that the bus is being repaired, there will be no service even on Monday.
Parents, who are anxious because the bus is the only source of transportation, said the school should have made alternate arrangement for the students most of whom come from distant places.
The aggrieved guardians said the school collects bus fees quarterly “and now when there is no bus service the school is not bothered”. Though the bus is specifically meant for students, it ferries BSF personnel and civilian officials in the force, the parents alleged.
A staff from the school said that the bus is still under repair at Guwahati. When asked how the BSF is sustaining with a single bus for so many tasks to attend, the staff had no direct answer to this.
It was alleged that though parents paid extra bus fee, their wards had to travel with senior students in a crammed bus.
