Trucker assaulted

SHILLONG: Several trucks carrying boulders meant for export to Bangladesh were allegedly   obstructed by a group of miscreants who demanded money from the truckers.
Md. Jahirul Islam Hazarika lodged a complaint that on September 1 at around 10 pm, three persons, Jahirul Islam, Jehangir, Kader Ali along with  30 others armed with daggers and iron rods obstructed the trucks carrying boulders at Shewraguri, NEC Road  in West Garo Hills and demanded Rs. 5,000 from them.
The miscreants also assaulted the complainant causing injuries to him and looted Rs. 7,000 besides threatening him with dire consequences.
