Five injured as lightning strikes school

JOWAI: Five students of Marian Hills Secondary School, Jowai suffered injuries, two of them grievous, when lightning struck the school on Wednesday afternoon.
A source from the school said the boys were in the toilet when the lightning struck at around 2:45 pm.
One of the students identified as Sawni Suchiang was rushed to KJPA Hospital in an unconscious state. Another student, Donaldson Dkhar also sustained serious injuries but he was conscious.
Three other students – Rikky Pale, Ijuhbait Iongwai and Ewanmi Sutnga – were lucky in that they sustained only minor injuries.
