Former Cong leader’s death condoled

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee, led by its president, D D Lapang condoled the sudden demise of George Marbok War who had served the party as Sr. General Secretary, Meghalaya PCC, and in other capacities for number of years.
The condolence meeting of the MPCC presided over by Lapang on Wednesday paid glowing tributes to War.
The meeting described him as an able sportsman, a sports administrator, a well known social worker, and a respected leader of the Indian National Congress, who also served as the chairman of Shillong Municipality.
The meeting recalled the qualities of head and heart of War, and observed that the void caused due to his sudden demise would be difficult to fill.
A two minutes silence was also observed in memory of the departed soul.
