Chopper with 8 on board makes emergency landing

Guwahati: It was a close shave for eight persons who were travelling on board a chopper run by a private airline which developed technical glitch and was forced to make emergency landing on an open field near Nagaon town in Central Assam at around 10-15 A.M. on Thursday. The chopper was travelling from Guwahati to Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh.
An official in Nagaon informed that the chopper of Skyone Airways airline with eight persons on board made an emergency landing at Nehrubali near Nagaon town in central Assam after developing technical snag midair after it had taken off from Guwahati airport at 10.00 A.M. The chopper was on its way to Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh from Guwahati.
The helicopter was travelling with six airline staff and two passengers from Guwahati. It was supposed to reach Itanagar at around 10-30 A.M. The district administration in Nagaon has provided accommodation for the airway staff at the government circuit house till the chopper is repaired while the two passengers took a car from Nagaon towards Itanagar.
