SHILLONG: After withdrawing the no-confidence motion against the Congress-led government on Thursday, the Opposition is set to move another no-confidence motion against Assembly Speaker, AT Mondal, on the last day of the session on Friday.
Opposition member James Sangma (NPP) had submitted a letter expressing lack of confidence in the Assembly Speaker to the Assembly Secretariat which was subsequently admitted by the Speaker to be taken up on Friday.
An official source said on Thursday that the resolution seeking the removal of Speaker has been listed during Friday’s government business.
However, it is yet to be known whether the Opposition will move the motion considering that they had withdrawn the no-confidence motion against the Congress government.
