Editor,
Our state policy towards the marginalised, low-income and disguised employment sector is so disappointing because of the fact that no political party, regional or national has ever represented the most critical issues pertaining to this sector. They could be muster roll workers, barefoot village health workers, malaria workers, home guards and a host of other professions requiring varied skills in various capacities. The Assembly is currently in session and we expect some of the politicians to take up these issues concerning the underprivileged working class. Can we expect something from an ailing dispensation which is fraught with power mongering, chair pushing, corruption ridden and wastage of public money? We look forward that if not today then in another two years the people will make them pay for the criminal neglect they suffer.

Kudos to our Paralympians
Editor,
My heartfelt gratitude goes to each and every paralympian at the Rio Paralympics, 2016 who have made our country proud. The poor show that was rendered by our Olympians at the Summer Olympics, except a handful few, was reciprocated well by these athletes, despite their wide range of disabilities, with their extremely good show and keeping the Indian Flag flying. The show of their mettle and determination to outperform the competitors despite their many physical challenges is a lesson for our democratic government at the centre and every state as to where their attention should be turned to. Our country of over a billion people may not be able to create world class athletes but these paralympians have shown us with their achievements that there is still hope. Their efforts made us believe that physical disability is just another hurdle which one can overcome if there is will power. The union sports minister who was involved in a controversy at the Summer Olympics photo-ops should come out of his cove and declare gallantry sports awards to these individuals who are our true sportspersons. It would be a real compliment if these players are awarded with Arjuna Award, Khel Ratna and what have we. I bow my head once again to each of these paralympians in appreciation of their achievements.

Another feather on ISRO’s cap
Editor,
Kudos to ISRO for crossing an important milestone with the successful launch of weather satellite INSAT-3DR using a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle equipped with the indigenous cryogenic upper stage. Congratulations to all the Scientist of ISRO for giving their best to make this operation successful. ISRO is one of the main arms of the government in its scientific experiments and achievements. Our ISRO scientists have made us proud by their hard work, dedication, and strong will power which shows that our Indian scientists have now reached such platforms where nothing is impossible. This launch marks the third consecutive success to the credit of ISRO and it has also crossed an important milestone with this successful launch of weather satellite INSAT-3DR using GSLV. ISRO is advancing in leaps and bounds in space technology. Our country has now become a world leader in cost-effective space launches and technologies. Time has now come when we should go to the grass-roots level and inspire the youngsters to think of a career in space research.
