Inauguration
Meghalaya Governor V Shanmuganathan will inaugurate the permanent building of the IGNOU Regional Centre Shillong on September 27 at 12:00 noon at the NEHU main campus, Shillong. Other dignitaries who will be present on the occasion include the Vice Chancellor of NEHU, Prof. S K Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU, Prof. Ravindra Kumar and Director Regional Services Division, Dr. V Venugopal Reddy.
Mock drill competition
The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, East Khasi Hills District has informed that as part of the observance of National Disaster Reduction Day on October 29, the District Disaster Management Authority will conduct a school level mock drill competition on October 28. Interested schools can contact the District Emergency Operation Centre, DC’s Office, Shillong at 0364-2502094/email [email protected]. The last date for registration is October 7.
Book release
Speaker A.T. Mondal and Health Minister Roshan Warjri will jointly release two books on Friday at 2 P.M in the Assembly building at Rilbong. The books are: ‘P.R. Kyndiah – As I know Him’, written by Andrew Simons, Commissioner & Secretary and ‘Meghalaya’, written by Prof. Phibankhamti Ryngnga and Prof. Siddeswar Sarma.
