SHILLONG: The FKJGP Mawlai Circle has criticised the State Government for saying it lacked funds to create a C&RD Block at Mawlai.
In a press communiqué, Marbud Dkhar, president of FKJGP Mawlai Circle, said they were assured in June this year by then minister of C&RD Prestone Tynsong that Mawlai would be elevated to a block level before the 2018 election.
However, FKJGP was surprised when Sniawbhalang Dhar, who took over as the minster of the Department, said the State had no funds to implement the project.
In this connection, the organisation has urged the minister to examine the matter as Chief Minister Mukul Sangma had stated during the Budget Speech of 2016-17 that four more blocks, including Mawlai, would be created.
