Ri Bhoi women spread cleanliness message

Nongpoh: Women of Iewmawlong village are spreading the message of hygiene and sanitation.
A group of women under the banner Ka Sengtreilang Longkmie Iewmawlong organised an awareness programme on cleanliness at the community hall on Saturday.
The resource person highlighted various health issues, its preventions and the need for every household to maintain cleanliness. Public health nurse Lawrence Nongrum highlighted the need for institutional delivery to avoid infant mortality.
OB Ranee, who was representing the PHE Department, focused on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pet project ‘Swachh Bharat’.
The awareness programme was concluded with the distribution of more than 200 dustbins among the women in the village.
