TURA: The recent allegations levelled by a group of social and student organizations against the medical fraternity of Chokpot Community Health Centre (CHC) claiming encroachment by the health department into land beyond its boundary and stopping the movement of public through a thoroughfare have been proven otherwise.
A fact finding team of the medical department led by two doctors, DMHO Dr Lily Marak and MHO Dr Jacob Marak inspected the boundary and interacted with the public and the medical staff at Chokpot and also met the Nokma Sengsan R Sangma.
The fact finding team was informed by the Nokma that no encroachment had taken place and the existing boundary of the CHC was as per the documents which were handed over to the DMHO.
“There is no encroachment from hospital outside of the boundary,” the enquiry team reported.
On the allegation that the hospital authorities were not allowing the public to use the road which passes through the campus it was found during the enquiry that there is an alternative road to the nearby indoor stadium, school post office, AWW centre which the public can access.
The headman of Chokpot had given land for the alternative route to the public for motor-able road up to the indoor stadium and a school so that the trespassed way through the hospital can be stopped and boundary fencing can be placed.
A group of NGOs which met the enquiry team were further told that it is mandatory to put up a boundary wall all around as per health guidelines for infection control management.
