Ri Bhoi pressure groups oppose ‘AR land acquisition’

NONGPOH: As many as four pressure groups from Ri Bhoi recently formed a Joint Action Committee to oppose the proposed land acquisition by Assam Rifles for setting up a camp at Lawbyrwa village in the district.  The pressure groups– Ri Bhoi Students Union (RBSU), Hynniewtrep Achick National Movement (HANM), Ri Bhoi Peoples Movement (RBPM) and Ri Bhoi Peoples United Organization (RBPUO)-who came together to form the JAC said  that based on information received from a reliable source, they had unanimously decided to oppose the move by the Assam Rifles to acquire a piece of land at Lawbyrwa village.
