3 convicted for drunk driving

SHILLONG: Three persons were convicted by a local court here for drunk driving.
East Khasi Hills SP M. Kharkrang said the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Shillong, in its order on September 28 convicted Dominic Lyngdoh who was booked by Mawlai traffic branch for driving under the influence of alcohol. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 and disqualified him from driving for six months.  and his Driving License was also seized.
In another case, the court in an order on September 8 convicted Purandar Boro who was booked by Laitumkhrah traffic branch for drunk driving. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 4,000 and disqualified him from driving for six months.
Another person, Donbok Kharpran, booked by Laitumkhrah police branch, was convicted and fined Rs 3,500 by the same court.
The drivers’ licences have been seized in all cases.
The Court also convicted Larica Kharmawphlang and Wakorbiki Slong for committing nuisance in public and imposed a fine of Rs 5000 on  each while Asmil Hussain  was booked on September 28 for the same reason and  fined Rs 5000.
