72000 additional berths to cater to Puja rush

Guwahati: One hundred thirty-three (133) trips of special trains that have generated about 72000 additional berths, are being run to clear rush of passenger from the Northeast region during the current festive season. Apart from Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) , Eastern Railway and South Eastern Railway are also running Puja special trains to and from NE region to clear rush of passenger.
The NFR headquarter here informed that four trips of Puja special train number 82501/82502 will be running between Kamakhya and Bangalore Cantonment from October 4 October while seven trips of Puja special train number 82506/82505 will be running between Kamakhya and Pune from October 3. Six trips of Puja special train number 05609/05610 will be running between Guwahati and Gorakhpur from October 7. Seven trips of Puja special train number 05942/05941 will be running between Dibrugarh and Kolkata from October 2. Seven trips of Puja special train number 05245/05246 will be running between New Jalpaiguri and Kolkata from October 7 .
Forty six trips of Puja special train number 05813/05814 will be running between New Bongaigaon and Guwahati from October 1 while twelve trips of Puja special train number 03129/03130 will be running between Kolkata and Alipurduar from October 5 . Twelve trips of Air-conditioned Puja special train number 02261/02262 will be running between Sealdah and Kamakhya from October 7.
Eight trips of Puja special train number 82307/82308 will be running between Santragachi and New Jalpaiguri from October 2.
Moreover one AC 3-tier coach has been added on permanent basis in train number 15613/15614 Kamakhya – Murkongselek Intercity Express and one AC-3 tier & one sleeper coach have been added on permanent basis in 15605/15606 Kamakhya – Dibrugarh Intercity Express. Similarly one AC 3 tier and three sleeper class coaches have been added on temporary basis in 55615/55616 Guwahati – Silchar Fast passenger train.
One AC-3 tier coach has been added on temporary basis in 05664/05663 Silchar – Agartala passenger train, 22411/22412 Naharlagun – New Delhi AC Express and 12423/12424 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express trains.
Train number 15771/15772 Alipurduar Jn. – Kamakhya Intercity Express will also stop at Salakati station October 2 on experimental basis for three months.
