SHILLONG: A GNLA cadre was killed in an encounter with the police in East Garo Hills on Friday.
According to police, the militant identified as Balmit.Marak was killed after an exchange of fire between the police and a group of militants who were in a hide out at Dawa Nengjata, near Williamnagar at around 5:30 am.
Arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot.
