Several theft cases reported in city

SHILLONG: Several cases of theft have been reported from different parts of the state including the capital in the last few days.
Police have detained two persons for stealing one Tata Nano car from the city.
Police said that on
September 28 morning, unknown miscreants stole one Tata Nano car (ML-05J-5231) belonging to Sukla Baruah from Polo, Shillong.
In this connection, two persons, identified as Sanjay Kuri (26) and Shankar Rai (22) were detained by the police and also recovered the stolen car.
On September 28,  around 8.30 AM, 20-year-old Jerry Lamare and 28-year-old Anthony Pyrbot robbed Tiewud Kurbah of Rs 700   near Civil Hospital, Shillong. Police later arrested the two accused. On the same day, Police also apprehended a 17-year-old boy, while he was stealing a blanket from Jhalupara, Shillong.
In another incident on September 27 at about 8 PM, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-07-3197) belonging to Garmeshwar Sangma from Williamnagar in East Garo Hills.
One Raton Kumar Shome also lodged a complaint that on the night of September 21, unknown miscreants broke into his godown near Kabul Bazar, Hawakhana, Tura and stole stationery items valued around Rs 53,000.
