SHILLONG: A patient admitted at the Shillong civil hospital left with a walker belonging to the hospital.
The incident took place on September 17, when the patient Okan Guwala, admitted at the hospital left the hospital on the same day, taking with him a walker. Dr. N.P. Laloo of Shillong civil hospital lodged a complaint in this regard.
This is not the first such instance in the hospital as last month a patient fled after stealing the mobile phone of a fellow inmate.
When contacted, the Joint D.H.S. (SS) Civil Hospital said nurses are supposed to check the rooms before patients leave. There must have been a laxity somewhere, she added.
