Drug smuggler in BSF net

SHILLONG: The BSF troops deployed at Barsora, South West Khasi Hills apprehended one Indian drug smuggler with 1300 numbers of R-7 tablets (Synthetic Medicine) worth Rs 1,30,000.
A BSF statement issued to the media on Thursday said that after the special patrolling party noticed some suspicious movement near Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence (IBBF), the jawans carried out search and  apprehended the smuggler identified as Rwnaru Boro (25)  resident of  a, Baksa, Assam.
The smuggler revealed that seized tablets were to be handed over to an unknown Bangladesh national. He also revealed that he purchased the tablets from one Happu (30) a resident of Mainpur from the house of one Dry (40s) a resident of Nongjuri police station , Khonjoy, South West Khasi Hills.
The R-7 tablets are bought in bulk at Rs. 150 per pill and after transferring through several hands, they are sold to end-users in Bangladeshi at taka 500 to 600 per pill.
According to BSF, the demand for the tablet is on the rise in Bangladesh.
