Tura-Dalu road project on track

SHILLONG: The ground work for the 48-km Tura-Dalu road project has begun with the detailed project report (DPR) being examined in consultation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) which is funding the ambitious Rs 519.95 crore project.
The project, which will include construction of the Tura bypass, has been cleared by the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
The National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has informed that the project cost includes funds for land acquisition.
Preliminary survey for land acquisition is under process and the social impact assessment notification will be issued by the end of this month.
