JOWAI: Two persons, including a minor boy, were reportedly drowned in a pond at Jarain village under Amlarem sub-division in West Jaintia Hills District on Saturday afternoon.
The decreased were identified as Won Khyriem (55) and Reliancy Pamthied (12), both of Jarain village.
Sources informed that they had gone to the pond for a bath. The boy who was a regular to the pond, was drown and on seeing the boy the Khyriem jumped into the water to rescue him but was himself drowned.
The pond is not that big or deep, a source from the village informed.
