Jowai gets new bishop

SHILLONG: Pope Francis has appointed Rt. Rev. Victor Lyngdoh, until now Bishop of Nongstoin, as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Jowai.
Jowai Diocese did not have a full fledged Bishop for more than two years.
The Archbishop of Shillong Dominic Jala will be the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Nongstoin.
Rev Lyngdoh was born on January 14, 1956 in Wahlang, under Archdiocese of Shillong, and was ordained priest on January 25, 1987. He was elected Bishop of Nongstoin on January 28, 2006 and consecrated on April 2, 2006.
