4 arrested in coal smuggling case

SHILLONG: Police on Sunday arrested four persons for their involvement in smuggling of coal in West Jaintia Hills.
Acting on inputs, police carried out checking at Mookyndur in Jowai and detected  two coal laden trucks (MLO5 J 9934 and MLO4 6476) driven by Nihas Nongpluh and Hameshanbok Talang respectively along with their handymen on Sunday afternoon. The trucks were proceeding towards Guwahati without proper documents in violation of the NGT order. Police are hopeful of more arrests in connection with the case.
