SHILLONG: The youth wing of the state BJP has slammed District Council Affairs Minister Prestone Tynsong for reportedly stating that Meghalaya, being a Christian state, is reluctant to accept the saffron party.
The statement, BJP said, threatens to divide people on communal lines.
Stating that the youth are annoyed at the constant bickering in the State where political leaders are fighting for power, the BJP youth wing in a statement issued here on Sunday said that the people are weary of the Congress which has led Meghalaya to debt and corruption.
The party, meanwhile, elected former State karateka Mlenkir Suting as the president of its Mawkynrew Mandal on Saturday.
