SHILLONG: While the HSPDP, which has two members in KHADC, is yet to take a decision on whether to align with the group led by suspended KHADC chief P N Syiem or sit in the Opposition, the UDP has asked its three members to maintain status quo.
HSPDP president Ardent Basaiawmoit said on Sunday that the party will decide the future course of action as far as the new development brewing up in the KHADC is concerned.
“We have two HSPDP members, Teilinia Thangkhiew and Pyniaid Syiem, who are sitting in the Opposition and any decision taken with regard to the political developments in the KHADC will be discussed by the party.”
Meanwhile, UDP vice-president Allantry Dkhar said, “The party members have been advised to maintain status quo till the party functionaries take the final call on the issue.”
He added that the party might discuss the matter in the coming week.
It may be mentioned that the MPCC has slapped a three-year suspension on the KHADC CEM and Congress legislator for anti-party activities.
