SHILLONG: A series of programme have been lined up for the observation of 50th death anniversary of Fr H Elias in the city.
The secretary of the commemoration, LH Pde said that on October 26, a symposium ‘H. Elias-Ka Jingsarong Ka Jaitbynriew Khasi-Pnar’ will be held at Don Bosco Youth Centre where Urban Affairs minister, RV Lyngdoh will be the chief guest. The event will be attended by teachers and students of different colleges and universities
On the day, the H Elias award will also be given to the student who has secured the highest mark in Khasi at the SSLC examination 2016. He said that on October 28, a concelebrate memorial Mass will be held at Divine Saviour Church, Parish Nongthymmai and the main celebrant will be Archbishop Dominic Jala.
There will also be a public reception at H Elias Memorial Higher Secondary School where PWD Minister, Ampareen Lyngdoh will be present on the occasion.
