DD Lapang on Monday recalled the following statements made by PN Syiem that, according to the MPCC chief, led to the party’s decision to suspend the leader –
“It is time for all politicians to come forward and set their agenda clear so that we can get a government (non-Congress) with the right direction in 2018.”
“My idea is to have a people’s democratic forum to take up the problems.”
“The party comes secondary as the immediate focus should be on revamping the new system (meaning new party).”
“I will remain quiet and calm without canvassing for the party. Other things are more important than the Congress party.”
“Let any one win the by-election but I will remain quiet.”
“Neither the working president, MPCC nor the PCC president can call the parliamentary party meeting.”
