Nongpoh: Two villages falling under Umsning constituency have been under complete darkness for almost six months now thanks to the negligence of the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL) which has failed to replace the damaged transformer in the area.
Members of Synjuk Ki Seng Samla Shnong (SSSS) led by their chairman Herroi Nongrum along with the villagers of Umraleng and Umraleng Umjymphod met the Chief Executive Officer of MePDCL EC Challam on Monday to apprise him of the hardships faced by the locals. Challam assured the delegation that a new transformer will be installed within a week’s time.
