One arrested for murder
Police have arrested one Elius Malang for killing Ioanis Sakra at Lymphuid village in Ri Bhoi. The incident took place on Sunday when an altercation broke out between the accused and the deceased while both were working in a paddy field. Malang reportedly shot the victim with a SBML gun.
Miscreants cut down trees, threaten officials
On October 13, at around 11.45pm, 15 to 20 unidentified miscreants allegedly ‘gheraoed’ the forest officials at Masighat Sub-Beat Quarter in South Garo Hills, threatened them with dire consequences and cut down eight sal and teak trees. A complaint has been lodged with the police by Suman B Marak, Range Forest Officer, Southern Range, Baghmara.
Man rapes niece
A man was arrested for raping his niece in South West Khasi Hills. As per the FIR, the 24-year-old girl was raped by Moonstar Lyngdoh Marshillong in his residence on the night of August 25.
Accident
On Tuesday morning, about 11 am, one Maruti Alto car (ML-05F-4239) driven by Mardondor Lawai dashed against one motorcycle (ML-05H-5977) ridden by Meshan Kurbah (16) at Laitkor. The rider and a pillion rider sustained injuries and were admitted to Woodland Hospital.
On Monday evening, one unknown truck knocked down a minor girl at Nongrim Hills. The victim was admitted to Nazareth Hospital.
