Electoral roll
The Electoral Rolls for the 23-Mairang-Nongkhlaw and 24-Pariong-Mawthadraishan District Council Constituencies have been prepared in accordance with the provision of Rule 129 of Autonomous District Council (Constitution of District Council) Rules, 1951 and copies are available for inspection at the Electoral Registration Office during office hours till October 25.
Excise raids
In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the city and its outskirts leading to seizure of 110.985 litres of i/d liquor and 40.010 litres IMFL in August. 21 persons were arrested under the Excise Act in this connection.
Logo design
To observe the National Disaster Reduction Day 2016, the District Disaster Management Authority, Ri Bhoi will conduct a district-level competition to design the logo of the Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority on October 25 at Science Hall, Nongpoh. Students from higher secondary to degree level can take part in the competition. Those interested can contact the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi.

Meeting
The Seng Nongjri, Shillong will hold its 53rd general meeting-cum-social meet on October 22 at Community Hall Jaiaw Shyiap and Lumpyllun at 1pm. Students who secured the highest marks in the 2016 SSLC, HSSLC and degree examinations from any school or university will be awarded at the event.
