TURA:  A man, who allegedly raped his six-year-old specially challenged daughter and her 13-year-old step-sister, has been arrested by North Garo Hills police following a complaint lodged by the mother of the victims.
The accused Mithunjoy N Marak of Nachirongdik village of Kharkutta in North Garo Hills allegedly committed the crime on September 30th at their home.
It is further alleged that the clan members had tried to settle the matter amongst themselves without getting the police involved and had even sent the accused father away to Phulbari in West Garo Hills.
He was arrested only after he returned to the village to attend a clan meeting where a police team lay in wait for him.
