UDP announces candidates for KHADC by-election

SHILLONG: The United Democratic Party (UDP) has decided to field Equator Nongrang from Mairang constituency to contest the upcoming  by-elections of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council.
The UDP in a meeting held at Sohiong on Saturday also decided to field Morningstar Tympuin from Rambrai Jingram in the upcoming elections.
During the meeting, the party leaders urged the workers to strengthen the party at the grassroot level besides ensuring a win in all the seven seats of the KHADC and JHADC bye polls scheduled to be held later this year.
The party leaders also asked the workers to start the party’s preparations for the 2018 Assembly elections.
UDP Chief Donkupar Roy, working president, Jemino Mawthoh and other leaders of the party were also present on the occasion.
