SHILLONG: The annual conference of the Association of Neuroscientist of Eastern India titled ANEICON 2016 concluded here on Sunday. The conference, which was attended by neuroscientists, both international and national, particularly those from eastern India, was organised by the Neurological Society of Meghalaya.
The two-day conference witnessed intense discussions on various neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury, neuro critical care, strokes, brain infections etc. The discussions proved to be beneficial to almost 200 neuroscientists who attended the conference, especially those from the Northeastern part of the country where neuroscience and care is slowly gaining ground.
Dr Werlok Kharshiing, proprietor and medical superintendent of Woodland Hospital and a pioneer in the field of private health care in Meghalaya, was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Kharshïing expressed pleasure at the fact that for the first time, a major neurological conference was held in Shillong.
