GUWAHATI: The tripartite peace talks between the Centre, Assam government and insurgent outfit National Democratic Front of Bodoland (P) will start by the end of November.
The decision was arrived in a meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday where Union Minister Rajnath Singh met the senior members of the outfit along-with police officials and senior Cabinet Minister from Assam.
Chandra Mohan Patowary, BJP Senior Cabinet Minister government in Assam said, “ The talks were satisfactory and the peace talks will start by end of November”.
Earlier, it threatened that it would not take part in any dialogue with New Delhi till political talks are held .
The outfit alleged that by not holding the talks at the political level, the government was trying to “side-track” the issue of separate state under the constitution. (UNI)
