Shillong to host Thai princess next month

SHILLONG: Shillong will host Thai princess, Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, when she arrives in the city on a three-day visit next month.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will arrive here on November 23 and will conclude her tour on November 25.
The princess is keen to visit Mawlynnong and Sohra but details are being worked out.
As part of the preparation for her visit, an advanced team comprising of nine people led by the Ambassador of Thailand arrived here on Wednesday.
The delegation is here to finalise the itinerary of the princess’ visit. The details of her visit are likely to be finalised shortly.
Former minister AL Hek hosted a dinner for the delegation on Wednesday.
The team is set to visit the Cathedral and meet its representatives. The team will also visit the Don Bosco museum at Mawlai to be followed by a visit to NEHU for a scheduled meeting with the Vice-Chancellor. The delegation will also meet the chief minister.
On the last day of their tour, the team will visit Sohra and then proceed to New Delhi.
