EC sets up monitoring cell of by-elections in Assam

GUWAHATI: In view of the ensuing Bye-Election in 14-Lakhimpur HPC and 20-Baithalangshu LAC in Assam, a control room and complaint monitoring cell has been constituted in the state election department.
The control room and complaint monitoring will be taken care of by the following staff of the Election Department, Assam : Abdus Salam, Under Secretary, Election Department as Officer-in-charge ; Rabin Sharma, Inspector of Statistics, Election Department as Assisting Officer ; Pulak Barman, Inspector of Statistics, Election Department as Assisting Officer, Karmakar Pathak, Sr. Grade Typist, Election Department as Assistant
The cell shall function with the Telephone Number-0361-2237030 and the following duties shall be performed — recording of all information relating to the ensuing bye-elections in the state, complaint and MCC violation report received through in-coming call, passing of information, complaints and MCC violation report etc., to the concern authority/DEO as the case maybe.
The cell shall maintain a separate register for the incoming calls about election related information as well as for complaints and MCC violation reports and also about the information passed to the authority/DEO concerned.
The cell also make co-ordination with all the control room set up in the districts going for bye-election.
They shall also collect the contact number of all Nodal Officers appointed at the districts going for bye-election and also the telephone numbers of the control room that have been constituted in the election department of the state.
