In this regard, the department’s chairperson has entrusted the Congress ideologue from Assam, Rejaul Karim Laskar, to prepare the strategy after visiting all the eight states in the North East and meeting state Congress presidents, CLP leaders and other party leaders.
Laskar, who is the former spokesperson of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee and former Secretary of AICC’s Vichar Vibhag cell, is also an author and scholar.
As part of this exercise, Laskar met MPCC president DD Lapang at his residence here.     Lapang’s suggestions for the AICC minority department will be included in Laskar’s report.
