NONGPOH: ‘Dreamers created wonders and translated their dreams into reality’, said D.D Lapang at the inauguration of a school building at Kreit Mawlong here on Thursday.
Lauding the founder of Dresi Memorial Secondary School – which got a new building, a playground and an approach road – Lapang said great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King dreamt of a better world and achieved it by serving people.
Despite the adversities, the English medium school has come up because of the hard work and determination of the founder members and teachers, Lapang said.
The school building was constructed under the SSA Scheme at a cost of Rs 14 lakh and the approach road and playground was sanctioned under the SRWP Scheme.
Earlier in the day, Lapang inaugurated the basketball court at Umpathaw Presbyterian Secondary School at Umpathaw.
A memorandum flagging the problems of the schools in the area was submitted to Lapang who assured that the issues would be taken up with the departments concerned.
