Farmers’ body demands agri policy

NONGSTOIN: The Nongklung Area Farmers’ Association on Monday demanded implementation of agriculture policy that would ensure better condition of farmers.
Commander Shangpliang, Chairman of the Joint Action Committee All Meghalaya Farmers’ Union (JACAMFU), said here, “The government should also release more sanctioned amount for the Agriculture Department in the upcoming budget session.” The union also said the government should recognise broom straw as agricultural produce.
