SHILLONG: The State Coordination Committee of coal owners, miners and dealers’ forum on Friday requested the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to re-examine the direction and order for payment of royalty on and assessment of coal.
The miners are facing difficulty in paying royalty as they had inadvertently declared more coal than what have been actually extracted and assessed by the NGT Constituted Committee.
The tribunal, while leaving the argument open, disposed of the application paving ways for the miners to open up the provision for review of the transportation guidelines.
