Tight security for Thai princess

SHILLONG: The city police are making tight security arrangements for Thai princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn who will be on a three-day visit here later this month.
East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang said though there is no security threat to her but police will make necessary arrangements as per protocol.
The princess will arrive here on November 23 and will conclude her tour on November 25. She is keen to visit the popular tourist spots in the State.
As part of the preparations, an advanced team comprising nine members, led by the Ambassador of Thailand, arrived here in Shillong last month and finalised the princess’s itinerary.
The princess is paying an official visit to India from November 20-25 to receive the first “World Sanskrit Award” at the invitation of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR).
Apart from Meghalaya, the princess is also scheduled to visit Assam.
