SBI counter at CH to help patients

SHILLONG: State Bank of India (SBI) has set up a customer service point (CSP) at Shillong Civil Hospital to provide hassle-free service to patients with medical emergencies.
An official said patients can use the CSP for transaction of up to Rs 50,000. SBI is also contemplating similar CSPs in other hospitals if there is a demand.
ATMs disburse Rs 2,000 notes
Meanwhile, the SBI ATM at Dhankheti started disbursing the new Rs 2,000 notes on Tuesday and as many as 8-9 ATMs in the city were circulating the same by night. A senior official of the bank said it took two hours for SBI to complete recalibration of the ATMs.
The ATMs which have been recalibrated for new notes are Dhankheti e-Corner, one ATM IN Laban, Air Force Signal unit, Laitkor view point, Shyiap, Mawlai Mawroh and Meghalaya Secretariat.
In addition, three ATMs in Tura – Service Station, Paharinagar and Babupara – have also been recalibrated.
The process of configuration of ATMs for the new currency notes in Jaintia Hills would begin on Wednesday.
