SHILLONG: Concerned over the revenue loss since hundreds of coal-laden trucks are plying without challans at 12th Mile bordering Assam, KHADC CEM P.N Syiem has decided to write to the State Government to address the issue.
“I came to know that many overloaded trucks are plying without challans. It will be a loss for both KHADC and the State government as this will affect the share of royalty,” Syiem said on Tuesday.
According to the CEM, if reports about the illegal movement of trucks are true, then it is a matter of concern for both the State and the KHADC as the royalty collection will be affected.
“It appears that those who have vested interests want to make a fast buck at the cost of the State government and the KHADC,” Syiem said.
The KHADC chief suggested that the State Government should co-ordinate with the KHADC to jointly address the issue.
