Police nab thief after stolen car meets with an accident

SHILLONG: Shillong police nabbed a car thief after the stolen vehicle met with an accident in the city on Thursday.
SP (City) Vivek Syiem informed that on Thursday afternoon, one new Alto 800, hit a motor bike (ML05-H-0461) near District Council Point at Lumdiengjri and sped off towards MES.
The Lumdiengjri Traffic personnel on duty there immediately informed his counterpart posted at MES Junction who then intercepted the vehicle.
On questioning the driver, Pyndapborlang Mylliemngap (30) hailing from Smit Mawmluh, who could not produce vehicle documents, the police grew suspicious. On further enquiry, the police found that the vehicle was stolen from the Banalari World Car stockyard by the accused.
He was then arrested and forwarded to Court.
The show room had not realised about the theft until the police called to enquire about the matter.
