33 candidates in fray for 7 seats in Dec 13 by-polls

SHILLONG/NONGSTOIN/JOWAI: Altogether 33 candidates are in fray for the by-election to the six vacant seats in the KHADC and one in the JHADC to be held on December 13.
During the scrutiny on Monday, the nominations of all the 33 candidates were found to be valid. Tuesday is the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
The candidates whose nominations have been found to be valid from Nongspung-Sohiong constituency are Kyntieweborlang Syiemlieh (BJP), Nathaniel Osbert Rymmai (INC), Pret Mawlong (Independent), S. Cleverson Roy (BJP standby candidate), Samlin Malngiang (HSPDP) and Wankupar Syiemlieh (UDP).
From Nongkrem constituency, the names of Edarstar Lyngdoh Nongbri (KHNAM), HS Shylla (UDP), Hubert Ford Riang (HSPDP), Lamborsing Nongrum (INC) and Mamiry Nongkhlaw (BJP) have been found valid.
Valid nominations from Laban-Mawprem constituency include those of Allowis Dohtdong (Independent), Bankhrawsing Kharbuli (KHNAM), Banrikupar Wahlang (HSPDP), Frederick Joplang  Lyngshiang (UDP), Hubert Marbaniang (BJP) and Ricky Shullai (NCP).
For Rambrai-Jyrngam constituency the valid nominations include those of Kimfa Marbaniang (Congress), World Champion Paliar (HSPDP), Denestar Pariong (BJP) and Morningstar Tympuin (UDP). In Pariong- Mawthadraishan constituency the candidates in fray are Ionis Lyngdoh (Congress), Blangstar Warjri (HSPDP), Thunder Warjri (BJP) and Pyndapbor Lyngdoh Marshillong (KHNAM).
For the Nongkhlaw-Mairang seat the candidates are Councillor Sing Wahlang (BJP), Alex Kharsyntiew (HSPDP), Lambok Nongrang (Congress) and Equator Nongrang (UDP).
For the War East seat of JHADC, Returning Officer Arun Kumar Kembhavi informed that 14 nomination papers were received from four candidates and all were found to be valid.
The four candidates in fray are former JHADC chief Lamdibok Sumer (Congress), Losing Lakuna (Independent) and two first-time candidates Firstborn Manner (UDP) and Smenlang Kyndait (BJP).
